So far so bad. It gets weirder. Because it wasn't called "insurance" you could insure "assets" (and boy do I use that term loosely) that you had NO FINANCIAL INTEREST IN which would be ILLEGAL if it was called insurance AND you sould insure it for ANY amount you wanted (even more than the actual "value" of the asset)as long as you paid the premiums (oops I mean fees.)
So the question is not just who got the money? but who got paid a windfall for what was essentially a "bet" that paid off if an asset that they had no financial interest in went down in value? Because those institutions had very little "skin in the game" and weren't being compensated for actual losses just collecting on their bets. NO WAY IN HELL should taxpayer money be going to pay off because somebodies "bookie" went bust.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8000978246179420267.post-3024326043228000272009-03-09T08:25:00.000-05:002009-03-09T08:25:00.000-05:00what a gracious offer!I have 30 acres SE of Lockha...what a gracious offer!

I have 30 acres SE of Lockhart that I may do the same for a few families.
