Online Petition for Open Carry Law in Texas

It seems like there may be quite an interesting development in the Texas legislature as they get ready to consider a proposal for open carry of handguns in Texas.

For those of you who are interested you can read or sign the online petition here:

Be aware. Be informed. Be prepared.

The Houston Chronicle has a editorial up as of yesterday. I signed this petition a while back and totally support this.

I know that Governor Blowdry, ERRR, I mean Governor Perry says he will sign open carry and college carry.

I don't know yet what Senator Hutchinson's position is, just that she is gonna run against Perry. I like her but would hate to get this into law and have a Governor who doesn't support the law.

Thanks everyone! Whether you are for or against it, you should still be aware of important possible changes in the law that will affect everyone.

Signed this a while back. It would be great if we were given back our right to be armed.

I find it very surprising that TX doesn't have Open Carry. AZ,NV,WA,ID,MT,WY and not Texas?

It's been out for a while but a push is on with the legislature starting up.

Texas has a great castle doctrine and has recently modified the "traveling" laws concerning guns but is still lacking in the open carry department for handguns.

A CITIZEN WHO SHIRKS HIS DUTY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE SECURITY OF HIS COMMUNITY IS LITTLE BETTER THAN THE CRIMINAL WHO THREATENS IT.

Everyone has a responsibility to protect themselves and thus create less of a burden on others. Thanks.

I just want to let everyone know that Jerry at Texas Guns / Texas Thunder Range has done a couple of press interviews that could have been detrimental to the Open Carry movement with regards to public opinion.

I used to always defend this guy. I have seen and heard SOOO many negative comments about this man. I was in his concealed carry class when he tried to embarrass me for supporting open carry. I was OK with that, but going to the Press and trying to hijack the movement just so HE can continue to charge $170 for CC classes is too much for me. I will take my business elsewhere.
