Free Library of Survival Skills

Rocky has put together a free Skills Library for Preppers. It's made up of books from the 1800s through early 1900s. All of these books are in the public domain or have expired copyrights. Most are available for free but are pretty time consuming to search for on the web.

There are many skills and a lot of knowledge that has been lost and many of these are skills that can be invaluable in surviving a disaster or a crisis. Although the Survival Skills library hasn't been completed yet, it has grown quickly and there is a huge number of free books that can be downloaded at the site.

You can visit Rocky's Survival Library here:

Our thanks go out to Rocky, the Lighthouse Survival Librarian

Be informed. Be aware, Be prepared.

I would like to know just how many women are involved in prepping, to me it seems like something, 40 to 50 year old men do, on weekends just to get out of the house and away from there wives on weekends. So can you give me a number. Thanks Snake Eater...

Nice!
I am very, VERY new to this. I don't see myself ever being like the people on tv but I have always been a bit different in that I like to know how to do things as they were done years and years ago. This library will be very helpful.

As an answer to the question above, I have no idea how many women prep... and I wouldn't really call myself a "prepper" but, I am a 33 year old female and I am looking into it.

I'm a 40something wife/mother, wannabe prepper. We do what we can, with what we have. We bought a home on 3 1/2 acres in nowhereville 2 yrs ago. We brought the man cub, dogs, and a lot less stuff to get started! We learned to raise and butcher chickens the first year. Second year...well, we can everything we can, we buy in bulk and store it, we grow herbs for medicine, we harvest our pecans (100 producing trees), planting citrus, bananas, vegetables, we sell/barter extra eggs (we have 17 chickens right now), are looking at getting a cow (for meat)...
So yeah...women are preppers too! I got my husband interested with the lure of new guns... Nothing like giving a man permission to buy more guns! ;)
