Tyler Preppers Meetup at Golden Road Park

The Texas Preppers Network would like to announce the initial meetup of the Tyler Preppers. This meetup will be on Thursday, April 26th, 2012. After the meetup at Martin Creek Lake State Park, head over to Tyler and get to know a few more preppers in the area.

You can check out the meetup or register to attend at this link:

They will be gathering at the pavilion in Golden Road Park. Bring the whole family. There is a playground near the pavilion with plenty of room for the kids to play. The meet will start at approximately at 6:30 PM and you might want to bring along something to eat or snack on while you are there. They plan to spend some time getting to know one another, introducing new members to the APN and discussing the basic principles of prepping. The organizer of the Tyler Preppers is an RN and also plans to give a brief presentation on preparing for the summer heat. This will include information about the signs and symptoms, treatment, and prevention of heat stroke.

Here is a link to the Golden Road Park website:
Current plans are for a meetup of the Tyler Preppers on the 4th Thursday of each month.
The Tyler Preppers hope all the preppers in the Tyler area will take some time out to attend the meetup and get to know each other a little better.

Prepper Group Meetings - Northeast Texas Region - Longview Preppers

The Northeast Texas Region now has a meetup group in the Longview area that that has been set up for the benefit of preppers in that area. Here is a link to the site where you can find out additional information about scheduled meetups in that area:

http://www.meetup.com/LongviewPreppers/

Are you willing to learn how to get prepared?

Are you willing to promote a positive image of Preppers?

Are you willing to help organize regular scheduled meetups?

Preppers believe that "everyone" should get prepared. Are you willing to be inclusive of others no matter their race, religion, gender, ethnicity etc...?

Tell us what got you interested in prepping and what you would like to see happen with this group. Bryan started out working for a prepper on his ranch while he was in high school. Bryan looks for this group to not only train together on a wide range of skills but to also gain trust and network together.

You can also contact Bryan McLaughlin, the organizer of Longview Preppers, for further information at familypreparednessconsulting@gmail.com.

Membership in the TPN

It’s been a while since I talked about membership in The Texas Preppers Network. I talked to Mayberry the other night for quite a while and this is just one of the topics we covered. We are always looking for new persons to join the network and help others in our great state become more aware, more informed about relevant issues and better prepared to deal with adverse conditions, emergencies or a crisis.

So how do you become a member?

First, you don’t need to be a blogger. All you need to be is a Texan concerned with preparedness issues that are of interest or relevant to the unique conditions Texans face everyday.

Second, you will need a non-personal e-mail address that can be posted so that other members can contact you about information on happenings in your area of the state. Texas is a big place and much too large for any one person to stay effectively informed about any disasters or emergencies that may occur. We rely on local people to supply relevant information and insight on things that are happening in their area. A non-personal e-mail will also allow you to set up some serious spam controls. It is unfortunate that there are a lot of “e-mail farmers” that collect e-mail addresses posted on the internet, so get ready to get a little spam. Personally, I get a LOT!

Third, send your thoughts on being better prepared or information on ideas that you think may help others be better prepared. You can e-mail Mayberry or myself and we will see to it that your information is posted on TPN. If you are a blogger, you may also be given posting privileges once you are a listed member.

Fourth, your level of participation is decided by you. Serious bloggers know how time consuming it can be to maintain a site. This is being done for you and all we ask is that you submit your thoughts and ideas whenever possible. I don’t post a lot of information directly on TPN because it is meant as a place to share ideas that are specific to preparedness issues in the great Sate of Texas. My personal blog, Stealth Survival, is more of a general nature where survival and preparedness topics are concerned. You also don’t have to be a Hemingway to write something relevant. It may be a great link to a website that you know about, it could be something involving your own experience in preparedness or an update on severe weather conditions that may be affecting your area and is of interest to others in the same area. The smallest of things can have a big impact on being prepared.

Just as a computer network allows individual computers to be connected so that everyone can access needed information, so too is the purpose of the TPN. It is to allow individuals to connect with each other to have access to more and better information.

Be aware. Be informed. Be prepared.

Special Note:

MH and CK in Texas: I will be contacting you shortly or you can email me directly.

It's Your Network!

I would like to remind all the preppers in Texas that this is your network. If you have ideas or information you would like to share with other preppers in the state, just e-mail your ideas or information to Pickdog, Mayberry, or myself and we will do our best to get it posted for the benefit of everyone. It's your network!

The Texas Prepper's Network is a commercial free environment for the free exchange of ideas and important information as it may relate to preppers in our great state. With the support of the preppers in Texas, hopefully TPN can continue to be a force for all preppers in Texas to be better prepared. You may know of a good link for food storage information or disaster preparedness information you would like to share. All you have to do is let us know about it. Pickdog and Mayberry have done an excellent job of posting information for preppers at TPN and I want to express my thanks to them. I also post a lot of different information on Stealth Survival for everyone but is done randomly as to what I happen to be thinking that day. let us know what you are thinking or are concerned with because TPN is for you and the ideas and information you think is important.

I visited Galveston recently and will be posting an update on Galveston after Hurricane Ike for everyone.

Special Note: Thanks go out to DP for a most generous contribution to Texas Preppers Network. It is the support of preppers in Texas that help us to keep everyone better prepared. Thanks D.
Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

Remember, it's your network! Send usyour ideas and information. Thanks. RW
